I’m experimenting a little with video… seeing how it can help me (and my clients) produce better copy, and better websites. In a new era of copywriting, this counts. So, here’s the first (of perhaps many) StartupWriting.com videos:

Move your hand.
Leave slightly longer before the end of the video - it feels cut off.
Otherwise - good jawb!
Thanks dude. Appreciate the help. I don’t claim AT ALL to be an expert here… maybe some of the other good people like you can contribute!
Look into the lens instead of at the computer screen, I’ll feel like the viewers have more of your attention.

@Jeremy. good call man. It seemed uncomfortable to do that, but I’ll get there I guess. Maybe I should just write: “I suck at video. Don’t listen to me. Just go hire Penguin, and you’ll be set.”
Hi Brian,
Good job with the website. I’m wishing you best of luck!

That 3 day beard looks good! I agree it would be better to look at the cam. I feel more like a voyeur than an engaged viewer. The sound was very low even with my speakers all the way up (my problem or yours?) Also I’ve read it’s most effective to speak unnaturally slowly on video; if you speak normally it comes off as slightly sped up- like the camera adding a few pounds I guess! I liked the post about Stephen King. Not a fan either, but, hey, mix magic and a toolbox – great combination! Wicked good writing, Brian!
Thanks Dad, for dropping in here (and leaving a comment). Thanks for calling it ‘wicked good’ too. I take that as the highest possible compliment!
